Fishing boats sit on the mud and wait for the incoming tide. The Bay of Fundy is famous for its high tides, 40 feet and more between high and low tide. This extreme change takes place every six hours.
At low tide, the fishing boats rest on the ocean’s floor; a mere six hours later they are bobbing at the top of the 15 foot high wharf.
